In the emergency department of the Protestant Hospital Königin Elisabeth Herzberge, patients aged 18 and older are treated. With regard to seizure-related events (epileptic seizures and seizures of unclear origin) and epilepsy, the following are examples of indications for immediate treatment in the emergency department:

  • Status epilepticus
  • First epileptic seizure
  • Epileptic seizure occurring after a long period of seizure freedom
  • Seizure-like event of unclear origin
  • External injuries following a seizure-like event
  • Suspected internal injuries following a seizure-like event

The Tabor Epilepsy Clinic does not have its own emergency department. In epileptological emergencies, please contact the central emergency department of the Heart Center Brandenburg (Immanuel Hospital Bernau), which is located directly across the street.
